Bixby and Friends Presents: Bixby’s Rainforest Rescue brings the excitement of conservation, preservation, and going green to venues around the nation. Bixby invites audiences to join him on an adventure of a lifetime as he tries to save the rainforest. Special appearances are made by Bixby’s many rainforest animal friends: Treetop the singing toucan, Allie the 18-foot Albino Burmese python, Juan the Green-winged Macaw, and Tikatu the Kinkajou.
Bixby’s goal is to save the rainforest from its continued destruction, almost 46 million acres a year. The only way he knows how to do this is by packing the rainforest up in a crate for preservation. Through this dynamic 30-minute adventure, Bixby will interact with his friend Treetop, a singing toucan, to discover there are more ways we can save the rainforest than just packing it up. Families will learn the value of and basic ways to save the rainforest and the environment in which we live. Through the use of magic, comedy, audience participation, and a menagerie of antic animals, Bixby and Friends Presents: Bixby’s Rainforest Rescue offers families a very unforgettable learning and entertaining experience.
Assistant Production Designer David Starr, who has designed the sets and props for David Copperfield, Shania Twain, Donna Summer, and Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey Circus, provides his creative vision and experience in to the set and prop design for Bixby and Friends Presents: Bixby’s Rainforest Rescue Stage Show.
“Many people aren’t aware of what is happening in the rainforest and the environment which surrounds them. It was my primary focus to bring to life the story of the ongoing destruction and de-forestation of the rainforest.” Says Creative Producer and Director Barry DeVoll, President of The Blue Trunk Educational Series, INC. “It was vital that, as a team, we brought to life the rainforest in a way that would touch the hearts of young and old alike. It was also important that we inspire the audiences to take action, regardless the magnitude or scope.” I truly believe Bixby and Friends Presents: Bixby’s Rainforest Rescue will change the lives of all who see the show.”
In addition to Bixby and Friends Presents: Bixby’s Rainforest Rescue , families are able to get up close with the antic animal friends of the rainforest, with Bixby’s Rainforest Encounters.
Bixby has invited over 20 species of his rainforest animal friends to join him during this before and after the show adventure, Bixby’s Rainforest Encounters. Families can join: Archie the two-toed Sloth, Maddie the endangered Ring-tailed Lemur, Jumps the Red- Eyed Tree frog, along with various other live animal friends. This unique opportunity gives families an opportunity to see animals clear across the globe without leaving the fair grounds. Throughout the display families will enjoy learning interesting facts about each animal. Bixby’s Rainforest Encounters also advocates conservation and preservation by using of visual displays.
